Bt gave an original date of our phone & broadband installation as 19th February, having been told on more than one occassion that it was a newbuild, the 19th came and went with no engineer, was told lost in system, was then given a date of 5th March, engineer turned up but unable to connect as someone had forgotten to input fact that new build and needed cables to run from house boundary to nearest box, have today been given another date of 18th March for phone line and 23rd March for broadband, what I would like to know is who is going to pay for the time I am having to take from work and what kind of shambles is this country when the only people we are put through to if we want to complain are in India. All I want is my phone and broadband lines, why have I had to wait so long, BT wouldnt wait this long for a bill to be paid.

"Having exactly the same issue. Though BT even bother to tell me that they`d switched the installation dates - they just didn`t turn up and I`ve now spent a good three hours in total on hold waiting to speak with a customer services rep who just doesn`t care. To make matters worse they even suggested I speak with OpenReach who are responsible for sorting out the street cables - as if they care about one resident who`s paying £20 a month. Pity that Virgin hasn`t laid cables in my road - I used them in my previous address - I thought at the time that they were bad but in comparison they`re amazing. BT shouldn`t have the monopoly on laying the cables in the first place. I can promise that once my initial contract is up, I will never be a BT customer again :)"
